Today sees the start of the International European Ladies Amateur Championship, which is being held at the stunning Estonian Golf and Country Club, part of the European Tour Properties Network.
Opened in 2005, the club is regarded as Estonia’s finest golf venue and its Championship Sea Course is ranked 83rd in Golf World’s Top 100 European Courses.
This 72 hole strokeplay event will pit 136 of the game's finest amateurs against each other, and all those teeing it up will face a stiff test from the testing layout, which meanders its way down to the delta of the Jägala River at the edge of the Baltic Sea.
The difference between altitudes can be up to 40 metres, with oak valleys, old boulders and natural ponds creating a unique environment for a golf course, with the length and complexity of the course creating a real challenge for golfers of all abilities.
