Here is everything that you will need to know as a spectator at the 2022 Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by the R&A

Tournament Format

Date:

Thursday November 3 - Sunday November 6, 2022

Field:

45 Players

Format:

The tournament will be a 72-hole stroke play event with no cut.

In the event of a tie for first place there will be a hole-by-hole playoff.

Prize Presentation:

The Prize Presentation will take place upon the conclusion of play on Sunday November 6, 2022 on the 18th Green at approximately 16:30 local time

Prize Money:

Prize fund €500,000

R2M points 500,000

Television Broadcast:

For the very first time the event will be broadcast live. The full broadcast schedule is as follows:

Event Hub:

The Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by the R&A Event Hub is where you will find all the tournament information and updates, including daily draws, course map, leaderboard and much more. Event Hub QR codes can be scanned to access all the information you will need, and these will be displayed as you enter the tournament and within the Championship Village and catering areas.

Contactless / Cash Payments:

Food and beverage can be purchased using both cash and card. Please note that there will be no ATMs onsite, the nearest ATM is in Alcudia circa 10 minutes away.

Tickets:

Entrance to the event will be free of charge, but spectators should register for their free tickets. CLICK HERE TO BOOK YOUR TICKETS. Upon arrival spectators will have their tickets checked and scanned at the entrance to the Championship Village.

Taxi:

Taxis are welcome to drop of / collect guests from the entrance to the Championship Village at the venue, which is located through the main entrance gate and halfway up the 18th hole.

Dress Code:

Appropriate footwear should be worn to avoid injury. Please check the weather forecast before you set off on your journey. In case of rain, please bring appropriate waterproofs.

Spectator's Etiquette:

  • Remain still for each shot and do not move until all the Players in the group have played or holed out.
  • Kneel or sit down if you are in the front row. Consider other spectators when using an umbrella.
  • Do not speak to the players while they are on the course.
  • Please keep behind the ropes and barriers on the course and use the official crossing points.
  • Walk, don’t run, and obey the course marshals – they are trying to make your day more enjoyable.
  • There is no dress code in public areas.
  • Dress accordingly for the weather conditions. Sensible shoes should be worn. No metal spikes allowed.
  • During play, spectators are prohibited from asking for player autographs.
  • Please listen to any public address announcements and follow instructions from officials and volunteers should they be necessary.

Course:

Spectators can move freely around the golf course but please stay outside the ropes. Controlled crossing points, which are clearly marked by signposts and manned by course Marshals, should be used when crossing fairways.

Evacuation Procedure:

If it is necessary to evacuate the site, please follow the instructions of the course marshals, volunteers and event officials in an orderly fashion.

Practice:

The practice days prior to the event days are not open to the public. The event is open to the public from Thursday to Sunday.

The access point to the practice range is adjacent to the 1st hole and behind the putting green.

The putting green is located to the left of the 1st tee.

The short game area for pitching and bunker play is located adjacent to the main driveway.

Marshals:

The Federación Balear de Golf will be managing the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final volunteer programme. The Marshals are extremely influential in helping to ensure that play runs smoothly.

The purpose of a Marshal is to ensure that the competitors are able to compete under the best conditions.

Many of the marshals have volunteered at a number of other golf events across the country and have a good understanding of the appropriate golfing etiquette.

Phone Charging:

No phone charging stations are available to the public.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

No picnics / picnic hampers allowed.

Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted to be brought into the venue.

Public Catering & On-Course Catering

There is public catering that is located within the Championship Village offering a variety of food and drink from TAST Out. On-Course catering is available at the TAST Out Halfway House which is located behind the 7th & 15th greens.

Grandstands:

There will be no grandstands at the event.

Additional Seating:

There will be no additional seating at the event.

Championship Village:

The Championship Village is where it’s all happening off the golf course and is where you will find plenty of seating to relax. There will be fun activities for the whole family, retail units and food and drink outlets ensuring that the golf course is not the only place where the action is happening.

Inclement Weather:

Spectators are advised to take precautions prior to play being suspended. If the siren sounds, seek shelter immediately, avoiding the following:

Open areas, hilltops or high places, isolated trees, golf buggies and wire fences

Bookmaker:

There will be no bookmaker facilities on site.

Is there a Public Crèche?

There will not be a public crèche at this event.

Can I bring a child’s buggy/pushchair?

Yes you can. However please be aware of uneven terrain. Children should always be accompanied by an adult.

The ground is uneven and particularly under wet conditions the ground may become slippery therefore appropriate footwear should be worn to avoid injury.

There are no baby changing facilities at the event.

Left Luggage:

There will not be a left luggage facility at the event.

Can I bring a bag / rucksack?

Bags and rucksacks are permitted at the Championship and there are no restrictions on size.
