One of the most celebrated golf photographers in the world, David Cannon has witnessed first-hand the dramatic transformation of Dubai having covered every edition of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic since the European Tour first visited the United Arab Emirates in 1989.

Over the last five decades, David has covered 120 men’s Major Championships, 70 Women’s Major Championships, 19 Ryder Cups, 15 Solheim Cups and 19 Walker Cups. This he thinks, in addition to his coverage of regular European Tour events, has culminated in over 15,000 nights in hotels across the world.

Then a fresh faced 19-year-old, Rory faltered down the stretch after building up a commanding lead before a miraculous up-and-down from the bunker behind the 18th green sealed his par and a maiden professional win.

Past Champions Anniversary

Having covered every Omega Dubai Desert Classic, 2014 was a special year for Cannon as every former champion (other than the late, great Seve Ballesteros) was present for the special anniversary edition of the tournament. Seve was represented by his son, Javier.
