The Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A will again take place at T-Golf & Country Club when the Road to Mallorca finale returns to the Balearic Island from November 4-7. Here’s everything you need to know about the venue…

Life-changing opportunity

Road to Mallorca

The Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A will bring the 2021 Road to Mallorca Rankings to a close, with the top 45 players competing for one of the top 20 places on the Rankings to subsequently earn European Tour playing rights for the 2022 season. The prize fund has increased this year from €420,000 to €450,000, meaning a strong performance in Mallorca is more important than ever.

History was made in 2020 as Ondrej Lieser claimed a one-stroke victory at T-Golf & Country Club to climb five places to the top of the Road to Mallorca Rankings and become the first golfer from the Czech Republic to earn a European Tour card and be crowned Road to Mallorca Number One.

The original masterpiece

T-Golf (2)

T-Golf & Country Club was originally named Golf Poniente when designed by the famous American John Harris in 1978.

Despite T-Golf’s wide fairways and large greens, it still provides a tough challenge for the highest calibre of golfer due to the strategically positioned bunkers, fifteen lakes and majestic pine trees. The undulating fairways are naturally created as the course runs through beautiful rolling hills and the views from the eighth and 16th holes overlook the Mediterranean paradise.

The Renovation

German businessman Heiner Tamsen purchased the club in 2015 and began a total transformation to what is now one of the most highly rated golf courses on the island of Mallorca. The club was renamed T-Golf & Country Club, with the driveaway and clubhouse undergoing a refurbishment and LED lights were entwined into the pine trees and rough opposite the clubhouse. The fairways and lakes have undergone a rigorous treatment process with large fish and turtles now regularly seen in the water obstacles. A stylish rooftop lounge and an entire buggy fleet fitted with GPS-navigation system have also been added. The reform has seen the installation of the latest and eco-friendly irrigation systems that save water and energy along with new Agrostis grass on the greens.

Dining experience

Away from the course, players can enjoy a delicious meal in the clubhouse restaurant overlooking the 14th hole or relax with a drink on the terrace watching golfers close out their round on the 18th green. For a special experience, there is a rooftop lounge that provides magnificent views over the course and the Tramuntana Mountains. The restaurant is run by Isaac González, who has worked at leading hotels and resorts across Europe and his dishes are Mediterranean focused with an Asian touch.
