The Englishman arrived at the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final in 20th place on the Rankings but after a four over par opening round of 75, he sat rock bottom of the leaderboard and his hopes of securing DP World Tour playing privileges had been put in serious doubt. The 27-year-old was projected to finish in 22nd place on the Rankings heading into the final round and therefore miss out on promotion to the top tier, however a grand finale consisting of three birdies in his last three holes ensured he elevated himself back inside the top 20.

Wilson enjoyed a solid season on the Challenge Tour with six top ten finishes, including a third place at the Italian Challenge and a tie for third at the Empordà Challenge and is now looking to use positive momentum as fuel for the 2022 DP World Tour season.
