Stenson will tee it up for the second time on the Porsche Nord Course alongside former World Number One and fellow Major Champion Martin Kaymer, 2019 Porsche European Open champion Paul Casey and two-time Ryder Cup star Tommy Fleetwood on the formidable Porsche Nord Course in June.

Also set to compete in Germany alongside the 2023 Ryder Cup Captain are twins Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard, and home hopefuls Nicolai von Dellingshausen, Max Kieffer, 2021 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Matti Schmid and Marcel Siem.

In addition to the stellar field, spectacular off-course attractions are also awaiting spectators at the Porsche Nord Course, with a 33-metre high big wheel situated behind the 18th green and a ‘volksfest’ atmosphere around the grounds.

Tournament Director Dirk Glittenberg, CEO of U.COM Event, said: “It’s a sensational piece of news for our spectators that they can enjoy watching world class golf up close and up in the air, but above all without any major restrictions as things now stand.

“I’m really looking forward to feeling the buzz in the grounds and to the live experience generated by the side events, as well as new attractions and some surprises this year.”

At the 17th hole, a Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo will be won by a golfer lucky enough to record a hole-in-one, while the traditional leader’s car, a Taycan Sport Turismo, will be driven to and from the course by the leader after each round.

On Friday June 3, St. Pauli Golf Club will host the Golf & Party Event after the second round. With prizes up for grabs on Green Eagle Golf Courses’ Süd Course at the innovative Par 3 shoot-out, with a DJ, MC, food and beer truck supported by former DP World Tour winner Sven Strüver.

The party is a collaboration between the Porsche European Open and St. Pauli Golf Club, with further information available at www.golfclub-stpauli.de.

The Porsche European Open will also play host to the second G4D (Golf for the Disabled) Tour event of 2022. Ten of the world’s best golfers with a disability will compete on the renowned Porsche Nord Course on May 30-31.
