Schneider climbs into top ten on Road to Mallorca Rankings

Marcel Schneider catapulted himself into the top ten on the Road to Mallorca Rankings courtesy of his third European Challenge Tour victory at the Open de Portugal at Royal Óbidos.

The German scaled 12 places into tenth on the Rankings after he eagled the final hole to seal a one-stroke victory and his second title of the 2021 Road to Mallorca, after winning the Kaskáda Golf Challenge earlier in the season.

Frederic Lacroix climbed ten places into 17th on the Rankings after his runner-up finish in Portugal, while Alejandro Del Rey moved up 34 places into 60th following his third place finish.

Santiago Tarrio remains in pole position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings on 163,938 points having picked up victories at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge and the Challenge de España. The 30-year-old finished in a tie for second at the recent Big Green Egg German Challenge powered by VcG alongside Lukas Nemecz, who currently sits in eighth place on the Rankings after three top six finishes in his last three Challenge Tour events.

Five-time Challenge Tour winner Ricardo Gouveia sits in second place on 139,866 points, thanks to the Portuguese victories at the Italian Challenge and Made in Esbjerg Challenge – Presented by FREJA & TotalEnergies, while Spaniard Alfredo Garcia-Heredia is 31,784 points behind in third place after the 39-year-old picked up a maiden Challenge Tour title at the B-NL Challenge Trophy.

Ewen Ferguson sits in fourth place on 95,722 points after six top ten finishes this season, but the Scotsman is still in search of a maiden Challenge Tour title, while Oliver Bekker completes the top five with 90,580 points.

Open de Bretagne winner Julien Brun moves into sixth place on 89,864 points, 636 points ahead of Marcus Helligkilde who triumphed at the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge last month.
