Back Injury Forces Couples to Miss The Barclays Scottish Open

Due to continuing problems with his back injury, Fred Couples has had to withdraw from this week’’s Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond on The European Tour International Schedule.

The 43 year old American, who won the Masters Tournament in 1992 and who recorded his 15th US PGA Tour success in April in the Shell Houston Open, had hoped to make his debut in the event but after consulting his doctor and therapist, he was advised to give his back further rest before hopefully being fit enough to travel for next week’’s Open Golf Championship at Royal St George’’s.
