Paul plays it for laughs to stay in front on the second day of the 2022 Cazoo Classic.

Here is everything you need to know from day two at Hillside Golf Club.

Playing it for laughs helps Paul Waring stay ahead

Paul Waring kept a smile on his face as he dealt with the pressure of being the halfway leader in the Cazoo Classic. The first round leader took his advantage to two shots as rounds of 63 and 70 saw him move to 11 under par. He said: "Even the last two days, I have had some great fun with Jack Senior and Eddie Pepperell, we have had a laugh as we have been playing which is nice. I am starting to play with a bit more freedom which is great. It is definitely having a positive effect on what I am doing."

Late start proves ideal for Jens Dantorp

Jens Dantorp made the most of a late start at Hillside with five birdies and two bogeys as he became one of Waring's most significant challengers. The Swede, who started from the tenth tee, picked up birdies at 12, 17 and 18 before a blemish on the first. He bounced back with birdies on two and six only to suffer a second dropped shot on nine, carding a three-under 69.

Rare eagle for Matt Southgate as conditions change

Matt Southgate sank a 23 yard eagle putt on the 11th hole as the wind made it more difficult for players to pick up shots during round two at Hillside. The 33 year old, the winner of the St Andrews Links Trophy as an amateur in 2010, carded a second round of 71 for a six under par total.

Garrick Porteous shrugs off mixed bag to place near the top

Garrick Porteus' topsy turvy second round at Hillside saw the Englishman drop as many shots as he gained. The 32-year-old had five birdies but three bogies and a double bogey six at the par four third meant he finished the day on level par for seven under at the halfway point of the tournament.

Daan's the man after early birdie blitz

Daan Huizing's lightning start saw the Dutchman swing firmly into contention after starting the day on four under par following an opening 68. A birdie blitz saw him pick up shots at each of the first three holes, with another birdie at the fifth seeing his score reach eight under early in his second round.
