Alex Cejka and Richard S Johnson took the total number of European Tour Members in the 103rd US Open Championship to 28 after claiming two of the last places from sectional qualifying at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Maryland.
Cejka, a winner of four European Tour titles including the 2002 Trophee Lancome, shot rounds of 67-69 to claim one of the last 34 available places for next week’’s US Open Championship, which takes place at Olympia Fields Country Club, Illinois.
He was joined by Johnson, also a winner from 2002 having captured the ANZ Championship, after the Swede shot rounds of 64-73.
The six graduates from sectional qualifying- Cejka, Tim Clark, Brian Davis, Fredrik Jacobson, Johnson and Maarten Lafeber – join 22 Members already exempt for the US Open Championship.
