• By winning the Portugal Masters, Alvaro Quiros won on The European Tour for the second consecutive season since graduating from the 2006 European Tour Qualifying School – Final Stage. He became the last player to win on their first European Tour appearance as a full member at the 2007 Alfred Dunhill Championship. He then won for a second time at the Oceânico Victoria Golf Course in 2008.
