Dyson Determined to Deliver Further Tour Successes

Having won twice on The European Tour last season and accumulated over €1,000,000 in prize money on his way to finishing 21st on the Order of Merit, England’s Simon Dyson is hoping to establish himself as a considerable force to be reckoned with in the golfing world over the course of the new season.

Dyson has been a European Tour regular for the past six years, but only last year did he establish himself as a tournament winner capable of winning at the highest level, a feat he twice achieved with his victories at the Enjoy Jakarta HSBC Indonesia Open and the KLM Open.

Having won twice last season, the 29 year old, like so many top players, has developed a hunger for success and is determined to maintain the upward trajectory of his career.

He is certainly on the right track in 2007, having taken seventh place at the Dubai Desert Classic last month and then finishing third at last weekend’s Maybank Malaysian Open.

“I feel like I can keep progressing,” said Dyson. “I feel I went up a couple of levels last year and finally got myself somewhere where I want to be, so it will be nice to take it up another notch and really establish myself on Tour.

“You seem to get a new sense of confidence that you can start going for shots may be you wouldn’t have gone for before you won. That certainly helped me and I’m sure that’s what helped me get my second win in Holland.

“If someone would have said to me at the beginning of 2006 that I would finish 21st on the Order of Merit I would have snapped there hand off but I would have liked to have got the top twenty because that would have got me into The Open and the WGC – CA Championship which would have been nice but I was very happy with 21st.”
