Els Takes Second behind Surprise Winner Boo!

European Tour Member Ernie Els of South Africa came up just short at the weather-affected Verizon Heritage, taking second place behind the winner, Boo Weekley of the USA.

That meant Els, Weekley and the rest of the leaders had to play almost their entire fourth rounds on Monday morning, with Weekley posting a final round of three under par 68 to post an unassailable 14 under par 270 total.

Els came closest to the champion, carding a final round of 70 to move to 13 under, but it was to be Weekley’s day as he won for the first time on the US PGA Tour.
