The top 12 players from the Volvo Order of Merit will compete in the Deutsche Bank – SAP Open TPC of Europe at St Leon Rot, Heidelberg, from May 20-23 with the confirmation that Englishmen Paul Casey, Brian Davis, Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood and Northern Ireland’’s Darren Clarke will be in the starting line-up.
They join the World Number Three Ernie Els, defending champion Padraig Harrington, seven time Volvo Order of Merit winner Colin Montgomerie, and Major Champions Nick Faldo, Retief Goosen and Nick Price in the field competing for a record prize fund of €3 million.
The withdrawal through injury of European Ryder Cup Captain Bernhard Langer leaves fellow German’’s Alex Cejka, Tobias Dier and Marcel Siem, all winners on The European Tour International Schedule, as the main challengers from the home country.
