Nick Faldo, Europe's Ryder Cup Captain in 2008, made a whistle-stop visit to Vienna on the eve of the BA-CA Open, presented by Telekom Austria, to participate in a series of events surrounding The European Tour's Congress aimed at 'Uniting Europe in Golf'.
Faldo flew in from the United States on a 24-hour visit, and one of his first port of call was the practice range at Fontana Golf Club where he conducted a clinic with promising juniors from Austria and neighbouring Hungary.
"There is loads of talent here" said Faldo, who was due to be one of the keynote speakers at a function in Vienna, when the city welcomed the European Golfing Community. "It is very impressive to see what is happening here in Austria and one day we may be seeing an Austrian play in The Ryder Cup and perhaps the event coming to this country."
