Fantasy Five from the Smurfit European Open

South African Retief Goosen continued his spectacular form in recent weeks by capturing the 2004 Smufit European Open by a stunning five shots to win his second title on the 2004 European Tour Schedule. A final round 68 saw the reigning US Open Champion earn 550,005 fantasy points and propels him in to an impressive €483,331.97 lead on the 2004 Volvo Order of Merit over fellow South African, Ernie Els.

Maarten Lafeber earned his fans 127,713 fantasy points this week as top Pool B pick, equalling his best finish so far in 2004 finishing in a tie for fifth place, the same position he held at the Dunhill Championship earlier this year.

Australian Peter O'Malley capped off a great week with his best finish of the season so far, a tie for second earned his fans 246,078 fantasy points. Joining O'Malley in a share of second place was fellow Australian Richard Greene, finishing as joint runner-up for two weeks in a row. The top pick from Pool D for a second week earned 246,078 fantasy points for his fans and moves up to 13th in the Volvo Order of Merit.

Gordon Brand Junior enjoyed his best performance on the European Tour Schedule since the 2002 Trophée Lancôme, earning 45,596 as the top pick from Pool E. A tie for fourteenth position gives the two-time Ryder Cup player with eight European Tour victories to his credit, his best finish so far in 2004.

High flyers this week was team "GOLDEN EAGLE" managed by Tony Watts who earned a fantastic 1,158,260 points from a possible 1,215,488.
