Haig and Sterne to play in Quinn Direct British Masters

The South African duo of Anton Haig and Richard Sterne will bring their considerable talents to the 2007 Quinn Direct British Masters to be played at The Belfry from September 20-23.

Fresh from his triumph at The Celtic Manor Wales Open, Sterne is now fourth on The European Tour Order of Merit and 35th on the Official World Golf Ranking, while Haig, 23rd on the Order of Merit, exploded onto golf’s biggest stage with his memorable play-off victory at the Johnnie Walker Classic earlier this year.

The Quinn Direct  British Masters will be played over the world famous Brabazon Course at The Belfry, which has hosted four Ryder Cups.

Sterne said: “I am really happy with my performance and win at The Celtic Manor Wales Open. I cannot wait to compete for another title at The Quinn Direct British Masters this year.”

Haig said: “The Belfry is synonymous with great golf and I can’t wait to get there in September and put on a performance that will challenge for one of the main titles on The European Tour.”

Andrew ‘Chubby’ Chandler, Managing Director of promoters International Sports Management said: “With every player announcement the competition for the British Masters title is getting tougher. The stage is set for a fantastic battle and there are plenty more announcements from the world’s top golfers to come yet.”
