Reigning Irish Open champion Padraig Harrington has backed the 2008 Irish Open’s St Patrick’s Day Ticket Promotion, which offers fans a 20 per cent discount on all Daily and Season Tickets.
The promotion, which will run from St Patrick’s Day today until the end of March, will see Daily Tickets reduced from €25 to €20, with Season Ticket prices cut from €75 to €60.
Junior fans accompanied by adults and Senior Citizens will be allowed to access the 2008 Irish Open free of charge throughout the tournament week .
The 2008 Irish Open will once again be played over the stunning Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort, from May 15-18.
Harrington ended a 25 year wait for a home winner of the Irish Open last year when, after a sudden-death play-off victory over Welshman Bradley Dredge at Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort, he became the first Irish champion since John O’Leary in 1982.
His victory in Co. Limerick was the prelude to his magnificent performance in The 136th Open Championship at Carnoustie, when he became the first Irishman to lift the Claret Jug in 60 years.
Harrington said: “The Irish fans were instrumental in my victory at Adare Manor last year. I felt a real sense of will and support from all of the spectators during that play-off, and they definitely played a part in helping me over the finish line.
“The more home fans we can get to come along and support the Irish players can only add to the flavour of the tournament, so it’s great news that the fans have a chance to buy tickets at these promotional rates.”
