South Africa’s James Kamte launched his rookie year on the Asian Tour by lifting his maiden title at the season-opening Asian Tour International on Sunday.
European Tour player Kamte, 26, carded a five under par 66 to finish 16 under par in Bangkok, beating a determined Tetsuji Hiratsuka of Japan by two shots.
Overnight leader Hiratsuka, who held a one shot lead at the start of round four, finished on even par 71 for a 270 total.
Third place was shared between Australia’s Unho Park and Marcus Both together with Thailand’s Prom Meesawat and Philippines’ Juvic Pagunsan.
