Ken Schofield, Executive Director of The European Tour, was joined in New York by Sir Michael Bonallack, one of the Tour's Non-Executive Directors, and Sandy Jones, Chief Executive of the PGA, for the Memorial Service for the late Mark McCormack, who died on May 16.
Over 2000 mourners attended the service for the founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of IMG at the Prestbyterian Church on Fifth Avenue in New York to hear addresses from Ray Cave, a close personal friend of McCormack, golfer Arnold Palmer, Olympic skier Jean Claude Killy, his widow Betsy and three children from his first marriage, Breck, Lesley and Todd.
Opera singer, Renée Fleming, sang two musical pieces and Schofield said: "It was an extremely poignant, moving service and a fitting tribute to one of the great men in modern day sport".
