South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen flew The European Tour flag with pride in his homeland to secure the Dimension Data Pro-Am at the Gary Player Country Club last weekend.
Oosthuizen closed out his win in fine style with a birdie four at the testing 545 metre par five ninth hole, his last of the tournament, to card a final round of three under par 69 and secure a one stroke victory over countryman Omar Sandys.
“I got a bit too aggressive on the greens on the back nine, a couple of three-puts leading to a bogey at 13 and a double at 14," Oosthuizen admitted. "So it was pretty tight in the end and I had to make good up-and-downs for par at 15, 16 and 17 before that birdie at 18 closed the deal for me."
