Rain Delays Donald's Bid for US Tour Victory

England’s Luke Donald will have to wait an extra 24 hours to resume his attempt to achieve a first victory on the US PGA Tour.

The 24-year-old former Walker Cup player holds a one stoke lead over South African Deane Pappas in the State Farm Bureau Classic in Mississippi after the third round, but bad weather forced an early suspension to Sunday's play.

Donald had not even teed off when the decision to stop for the day was taken.

He has already secured his card for next year, lying in 106th place in the money list in his rookie year but three birdies in the last four holes of his third round 67 had given him his first 54-hole lead. His best finish to date on the US PGA Tour is tied 13th.
