Schneider shines in Brno to climb up Road to Mallorca Rankings

Marcel Schneider climbed straight to 18th place on the Road to Mallorca Rankings following victory at the Kaskáda Golf Challenge in his first European Challenge Tour event of the season.

The German sits on 32,000 points after he birdied his last three holes to finish one shot ahead of Josh Geary, Lorenzo Scalise and Dimitrios Papadatos to claim his second Challenge Tour title, three years after his first triumph at the 2018 Swiss Challenge presented by Association Suisse de Golf.

The two-time Challenge Tour champion finished second on the Road to Mallorca in 2020 and has been a regular on the European Tour this season, but now has schedule decisions to make following his win in Czech Republic.

Scalise produced a career-low round of 61 on moving day in Brno and climbed 141 places to 41st on the Rankings after his joint runner-up finish, while Geary climbed 87 places to 34th and Papadatos moved to 30th from 73rd.

Marcel Siem’s fifth place finish meant he climbed 12 places into 20th place on the Rankings, while Spain’s Santiago Tarrio still leads the Rankings on 98,598 points following victories at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge and the Challenge de España. Frenchman Julien Brun sits in second place on 67,650 points, 10,347 more points than South African Wilco Nienaber who occupies third place
