Sporting stars Matt Dawson, Jerry Guscott, Alan Hansen, Tim Henman, Alan Shearer, Greg Rusedski and Keith Wood were among those who played in the Annual BMW PGA Championship - BBC Golf Day on the West Course at Wentworth Club, Surrey, England, on Tuesday April 1 - little more than seven weeks before the BMW PGA Championship unfolds on May 22-25.
George O'Grady, Chief Executive of The European Tour, captained the combined BMW/Wentworth Club/ European Tour team against the BBC for whom Peter Alliss, the former Ryder Cup player and three time winner of the PGA Championship, was the non-playing captain. The BBC Team, led on the fairways by Executive Producer Paul Davies, won the match.
