Golf fans who are quick off the mark can enjoy watching some of the best players in the world for just £6.25 per day this summer. Organisers of The Celtic Manor Resort Wales Open have unveiled the ticket prices for this year’s tournament (May 29 – June 1) - including a special offer for golf fans who book early.
Earlybird season tickets for the four day event have gone on sale at £25, giving unlimited access with free parking to a tournament featuring some of the world’s greatest players.
The earlybird season ticket at £25 and earlybird daily ticket at £12 each are available until April 18, when the prices go up to £40 and £20 respectively.
"We’re offering a discount of more than a third to give fans a chance to book at below last year’s season ticket price of £30," said Andy Stanton, the tournament chairman.
The tournament takes place from May 29 to June 1, the week after the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth Club, and the prize fund has doubled since the inaugural event.
The 2002 tournament was won by Scotland’s Paul Lawrie from a field including European Ryder Cup heroes Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Phillip Price and Paul McGinley - who won the tournament in 2001. Ryder Cup Captain Sam Torrance and his vice-captain Ian Woosnam were also at Celtic Manor last August.
The event will again be played on the superb Wentwood Hills course, with panoramic views of the action. Companies looking to entertain in style can choose from one of two hospitality packages, including the VIP Gold Pavilion in an exclusive double tier pavilion overlooking the 18th green with gourmet food and refreshments and clubhouse hospitality, offering admission to an exclusive suite in the luxury golf clubhouse.
