The series kicks off with Harrington, the 2008 European Tour Player of the Year and a golfer renowned for his incredible short game. The Irishman has an 81.3% per cent success rate in the Scrambles category of the Genworth Financial Statistics, so europeantour.com asked him what has helped the triple Major Champion become so strong in this particular category?
Harrington said: “When I was growing up as a junior at Stackstown Golf Club, there was no long game practice facility so I concentrated on practising my short game.”
What tips can you give to amateurs to help them improve this area of their game?
Harrington said: “The need to scramble normally comes after a poor shot, which needs to be put behind you with all the focus going on the next shot.”
