Barclays Kenya Open - tournament history

The 2018 Barclays Kenya Open will be the 26th time the tournament has been part of the Challenge Tour’s schedule, making it the second-longest-running event on the Road to Oman.

The tournament dates back to 1969, and its illustrious list of champions before it became a Challenge Tour event in 1991 includes Seve Ballesteros and Ian Woosnam.

The tournament will be staged at Muthaiga Golf Club this year, where last season Aaron Rai delighted the home fans by claiming his maiden Challenge Tour title in front of his emotional Kenya-born mother, who was making her first visit to her home country for 47 years.
