Round 3 of the WGC - HSBC Champions produced 54 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 69.91. Dustin Johnson leads on -18 with Poulter and McDowell sitting within striking distance. We analyse their performances and round up the Genworth Statistics leaders.

Dustin JOHNSON -18
Dustin Johnson converted ten birdies against two double bogeys on his way to a third round 66, to lead by three going into Sunday. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the huge hitting 38 year old golfer from the United States is incredibly strong across the board, ranking 2nd for Driving Accuracy (with 31/42 fairways), 5th for Driving Distance (averaging 302 yards), 2nd for Greens in Regulation (with 45/54 greens) and 1st for Putts per GIR (with 1.489). The dominance does not stop there though, with the seven time PGA Tour Champion accumulating the most single putts (29 alongside Spieth), the most birdies (23 in total) as well as the best Par 3 and Par 4 Scoring averages. The only question is, will he hold off the charge from behind over the final 18 holes?

Ian POULTER -15
Ian Poulter converted one eagle and eight birdies against a single bogey on his way to a third round 63 (which surprisingly was not even the lowest round of the day over the Sheshan International course - a 62 by Kaymer). Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 37 year old Englishman is performing steadily with the longer clubs and putting sublimely, although he ranks slightly lower for Scrambles (7/13) and Sand Saves (1/5) than expected. The twelve-time European Tour winner has a great chance of defending his WGC - HSBC Champions title tomorrow.

Graeme MCDOWELL
Graeme McDowell converted one eagle and six birdies on his way to a bogey free third round 64, jumping right up into contention with 18 holes to play. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 34 year old golfer from Northern Ireland ranks 1st for Par 4 Scoring, 2nd for Greens in Regulation and 4th for Scrambles - which has enabled him to drop the fewest shots over the first three days (just three bogeys in all, alongside DeLaet). With three global victories already under his belt this year, don’t be surprised if the nine-time European Tour winner ends up on top come Sunday afternoon.
