    Captain of Paraguay's Alfred Dunhill Cup team in 1991 and 1993. Led the Tour de Las Americas’ Order of Merit for four consecutive years, from 1989-92. Won the Paraguay Open on six occasions, as well as 20 other tournaments on the South American Tour. Won six National Opens (Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and Paraguay), as well as 24 other events on the South American Tour. Was renowned as being a giant-killer in the Alfred Dunhill Cup, being the only man to beat John Daly over the Old Course in 1993, and Ernie Els in 1994. His brother Carlos plays on the PGA TOUR Champions.
