    Victory in the season-opening 2008 Mercedes-Benz Championship on the US PGA Tour was his second title in three starts following his win at the end of the previous season in the Gin sur Mer Classic. Also lost a play-off for the MasterCard Masters on The European Tour and did enough as an Affiliate Member in 2008 to regain The European Tour card he held from 1996-1999. Born in Stockholm of a Swedish mother and Indian father. Travelled alone to Delhi aged just seven and raised there by his grandparents. Learned Hindi, which he speaks fluently. Won three Indian Junior titles plus the Doug Sanders World Junior title. A winner all over the world with success in Asia as well as his two US PGA Tour victories. Helped safeguard his European Tour card in 1997 by buying a first class air ticket to Australia to see his coach. Just ten minutes of coaching put him back on track. Authority on Star Trek and a committed "Trekkie". Also claims to be the first player to hit a golf ball off the Great Wall of China, in 1995.
