Crowned his first year on the Challenge Tour, 1999, by securing his card after missing 1998 Qualifying School. Consistency was the key to his success while he won one title, the Open di Tessali in Italy, and lost two play-offs, to Paul Nilbrink in the Volvo Finnish Open and to Iain Pyman in the Challenge de France Bayer in Paris. A keen football supporter of his native Argentina. Won seven times in South America – three times in Chile, twice in Ecuador and twice in Argentina. Lost his card in 2000 and 2001 and despite regaining it both times at the Qualifying School opted to return to the Challenge Tour in 2002 and was rewarded with 12th place in the Rankings, earning three top ten finishes including second places in the Aa St Omer Open and Rolex Trophy.
