    Peter, the only left-hander ever to represent Europe in Ryder Cup Matches, started the 2001 season slowly but ended it with a fine run of form which suggests that his maiden Seniors Tour win might well be just round the corner. Having had just one top ten finish in his first 17 starts, he then came fourth in the TEMES Seniors Open, tied eighth in the Dan Technology Seniors Tournament of Champions, reached the semi-finals of the SSL International / Sodexho Match Play Championship before completing his season with another fine tie for third place at the European Seniors Tour Championship in Spain. In 1977, Peter became the first left-hander to be selected for the Ryder Cup Matches, going on to beat former US PGA Champion, Don January, 5 and 4 in the singles. Won only once on The European Tour, at the 1975 Double Diamond Stroke Play, before calling it a day in 1981. For the next seven years he played the pro-am circuit and enjoyed a coaching role with Golf World. In 1988 took up the post of head professional at Hardelot in France and also started coaching the Danish amateur team, which included the likes of Thomas Björn, Anders Hansen and Morten Backhausen. From 1992 to 1995 he moved on to work with the Swiss Federation as coach to the national team. Penina and San Lorenzo beckoned in 1996 where he stayed for 18 months as Director of Golf. Between 1997 and 2000 he worked as coach for the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, during which time he competed in the 1999 Hassan II Trophy, his first tournament start in 15 years, Still coaches extensively and is a contributor to Golf International magazine.
