Rasmus Højgaard defends his title at Lübker Golf Resort in 2024

Lübker Golf Resort will host the DP World Tour golf event Danish Golf Championship from 22 – 25 August 2024.

Rasmus Højgaard, who recently won the last edition of Made in HimmerLand, welcomes the new venue, and looks forward to defending his title.

“I think Lübker is an excellent choice, and I am confident that the players, both Danish and international, will enjoy the course and venue. It is a top-class golf facility that I am familiar with, and I am excited to defend my title in front of the world’s best fans next summer”, says Rasmus Højgaard.

Lübker Golf Resort has previously hosted the Challenge Tour, ECCO Tour, and European Tour Q-School, with Flemming Astrup and GolfPromote as organizers, and it will be the same when the Danish Golf Championship takes place for the first time in 2024.

Flemming Astrup, Promoter Danish Golf Championship
“I am very excited that we are going to Lübker. I live in Aarhus myself, and I have dreamed of one day being able to bring the DP World Tour to the Aarhus region. Aarhus is a large and active city, and we have an ambition to activate the entire region around Aarhus, although the Danish Golf Championship will, of course, be a significant event for all Danish golf fans”.

“The strategy and ambition with the Danish Golf Championship are to take the tournament around the country, and we have a good plan for what will happen until 2029. For now, however, we are focused on creating a fantastic event in 2024 at Lübker Golf Resort”, says Flemming Astrup.

Carl Aage Nielsen, Owner Lübker Golf Resort
”I am very excited that the DP World Tour and the Danish Golf Championship are coming to Lübker next year. It is a recognition that our course is fantastic, and we are looking forward to welcoming both international and Danish players to an unforgettable week. It will be a great experience for us, the spectators, and especially for our members and house owners at the resort. I think it fits perfectly into our plans and desires for the development of the course facilities, activities, and housing in the coming years”, says Carl Aage Nielsen.

Ben Cowen, DP World Tour’s Chief Tournament Business Officer

“Since its inception in 2014, this event has provided many memorable moments, including of course, Rasmus’s popular home victory earlier this year. We now look forward to a new chapter in the tournament’s history as we celebrate the 10th edition in 2024 at a new venue, Lübker Golf Resort, and with a new tournament title, Danish Golf Championship”.

“Our thanks go to Flemming Astrup and his team for their continued commitment over the past decade to this event, to innovation and to our tour”, says Ben Cowen
