Matteo Manassero Profile - 11th Apr, 2012

Asia is the focus this week for European Tour Weekly as we are in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, for the Maybank Malaysian Open. As usual, ETW will be present to get the thoughts of the players as they prepare for the first of three consecutive tournaments in South East Asia.

Twelve months ago Italian teenager Matteo Manassero won his second Tour title with a one shot victory, The win meant he could now claim first and second in the list of youngest European Tour winners, for both his victories were achieved before he had turned eighteen. He shares his thoughts with ETW about such a remarkable achievement.

This week’s review comes from the Masters in Augusta and we will find out how the Europeans fared in golf’s first Major of the year. There are always plenty of events going on around the Masters and we find out what the tournament means to the residents of Augusta at a special Mayor’s ceremony held in honour of two-time winner Tom Watson.

For Australian Bryden Macpherson it is his first visit to the Masters. Entry was gained by way of winning the 2011 Amateur Championship and he tells us what it is like to be amongst such an exclusive entry list for the first time.

Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
