This time of year can only mean one thing in golf – The Masters. The eyes of the sporting world will once again be focused on Augusta as golf’s greatest prepare to battle it out for the first Major of the year and European Tour Weekly will be on the range to get the thoughts of the players as they look forward to the starting gun.

In 2011 a quite extraordinary tournament ended with the second South African winner in four years, Charl Schwartzel, who triumphed fifty years after compatriot Gary Player became the first overseas golfer to wear the coveted Green Jacket. On a Sunday that will never be forgotten the man from Johannesburg played the round of his life as others fell by the wayside to claim the biggest win of his career. We caught up with Charl in South Africa to look back on those momentous four days.

European Tour players are once again well placed to challenge for the title, and European Tour Chief Executive George O’Grady voices his opinion on the strength of The European Tour and how 2012 could be the best year yet for The Tour.

Sport is as much played in the mind as on the field and acclaimed sports journalist Matthew Syed gives us an insight into the pressures and pitfalls of top-level golf.

Completing the line up is a review of last week’s European Tour action from the Sicilian Open.

Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
