Titleist has renewed its strong support of the Golf Foundation for 2013. This partnership is a great benefit for the leading golf charity as it works to make the sport more accessible for young people through its national ‘HSBC Golf Roots’ programme.
Titleist has been a long-term supporter of the Golf Foundation’s vision to provide golf experience to youngsters from all backgrounds. HSBC Golf Roots seeks to offer boys and girls the technical skills and the life skills associated with golf.
This year, Titleist will provide golf balls that will be used in major Foundation events and promotional activities involving schools and communities.
HSBC Golf Roots reaches hundreds of thousands of youngsters a year from the classroom to the lesson tee at golf clubs. The scheme’s Ambassadors include Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Lee Westwood, Solheim Cup winning Captain Alison Nicholas and former European Tour player and respected broadcaster Ken Brown.
Mike Round, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said: “Titleist deserves great credit for its support of grass roots golf. Our golf programmes have enjoyed proven success in recent years and our team of highly enthusiastic regional officers is seeking to train more teachers, sports officers and volunteers to work with PGA Professionals. Together we can reach many more youngsters in 2013.
“To do this we are looking for strong commercial support from the best golf companies. In terms of quality golf brands, you cannot find a better example than Titleist, and we are thrilled with the association and with this news of continued support.”
Jonathan Dowdell, Titleist Golf Ball Product & Marketing Manager, EMEA, said: “Titleist is delighted to be supporting the Golf Foundation’s ‘Golf Roots’ initiative during 2013. As the Number One ball in golf, we see this as a great opportunity to educate these avid young golfers on the importance of the golf ball to their game and explain the industry leading performance and quality engineering which makes Titleist golf ball products the Number One choice on tour and throughout all levels of the game.”
