RSM presents the fifth episode from a series shining a light on key roles and personalities on the European Tour, this time profiling former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan during the star-studded Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
One of the most unique events on the European Tour, for just one week each and every year a host of A-Listers, former sportsmen other celebrity names play as amateurs alongside the professionals in a competitive format.
Having been one of the very best in his own game, Vaughan is used to dealing with intense situations on the cricket field, but how does he cope with the pressure of playing another sport at an elite level, in front of the TV cameras and crowds?
Contested across the revered and challenging links of the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns, there’s also more to the Dunhill Links than just the golf…
After the opening episode tracked Emma Cabrera Bello, a member of the European Tour’s Player Relations team, the second revisited Carnoustie with 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie, the third looked at the unique player-caddie relationship with Martin Kaymer’s long-time bag-man, Craig Connelly, while the fourth and most recent episode joined Official Starter Alastair Scott on the first tee.
The series is profiling characters from across the golfing spectrum and follows on from European Tour Official Supporter RSM’s successful academic performance study completed in 2017, which identified insights into player performances and time spent over the ball.
