The former European Tour winner joined the Senior Tour in 2011 and recorded top ten finishes in the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open and the Belas Clube de Campo Senior Open de Portugal. Ended the year in 44th position on the Order of Merit. A West Countryman and proud of it, he held off a strong challenge from Sir Nick Faldo to win the second of his Tour titles, the Peugeot Open de España in 1992. Previously captured his maiden victory in the 1991 Madrid Open. Also won the Open Golf Montecchia - PGA Triveneta on the Challenge Tour in 2001. Made his mark at the Home of Golf in 1984 when he finished leading amateur in the Open Championship at St Andrews. Took up golf aged 12 hitting balls in a friend's garden. Enjoyed it so much he sold his fishing tackle to buy golf clubs.
