Produced the best season of his European Tour career in 2014, with four strong top ten finishes the bedrock of a consistent year which brought record season's earnings of €454,560. Kept his card in 2013 after a successful 2012 season, when he only had a category 12 playing exemption but, nevertheless, secured his place in the top 119 of The Race to Dubai with some fine performances, the highlights being a runner-up finish in the Madeira Islands Open – Portugal and tied 13th place in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Divided his time between The European Tour and the Challenge Tour and showed his consistency by finishing sixth in the Rankings in the latter. Came through the Challenge Tour in 2007, the year he won the Challenge of Ireland presented by Glasson, and came close to securing his maiden European Tour title when he was edged out by Richard Sterne in a play-off at the 2008 Joburg Open. Took 79th place in the Order of Merit that year but found the following three seasons more of a struggle and played on the Challenge Tour until his form took an upward turn in 2012.
