Won the US PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in 2003 and finished runner-up to Tiger Woods in 2006 at Medinah. Occasional visitor to Europe, he reached the final of the World Match Play Championship at the Wentworth Club in 2006, losing by a record 10 and 8 margin to Paul Casey, having defeated Tiger Woods, Luke Donald and Robert Karlsson along the way. Played in Asia early in his career before returning to the United States, winning the 1998 Singapore Open, the same year he shot 58 in the 1998 Omega PGA Championship Pro-Am in Hong Kong. Friendly with the rock band Kiss and was a backstage guest of the band at their concert in Ohio the week following his US PGA win. Was honoured with the 1994 Sons of Confederate Veterans Award for Bravery after saving two people from a sinking car while at a golf tournament in North Carolina.
