The son of a fighter pilot in the US Air Force, he dreamt of becoming a pilot himself before being bitten by the golf bug. Has become something of a golfing nomad in recent years, plying his trade first on the US Nationwide Tour and then the Asian Tour. Embarking on his first full season on The European Tour in 2011 after taking the 16th card at the 2010 Qualifying School Final Stage. Won twice in his eight seasons on the Asian Tour, at the 2004 Macau Open – a tournament which featured three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington of Ireland – and at the 2007 Motorola International Bintan in Indonesia. Attended Iowa State University in his native America, where he regularly competed against 2007 US Masters champion Zach Johnson, with whom he has maintained a close friendship. Is a big fan of the Chicago Cubs baseball team and the Iowa State Cyclones American football team.
