After an encouraging debut season on the Challenge Tour in 2010, when he finished in 42nd place in the final Rankings, his career took off in spectacular fashion the following year. His first professional victory arrived at the Kärnten Golf Open presented by Mazda in May 2011. Having surged into contention with a third round of 65, he devoured Andrea Pavan’s five shot lead on the final day with a superb closing round of 63 to prevail by four strokes. Three weeks later, he doubled his haul of Challenge Tour titles at the Scottish Hydro Challenge where, despite testing playing conditions, he made just one bogey over the four rounds to pip Matthew Southgate to the prize and climb – albeit temporarily – to the top of the Rankings. The Bordeaux FC fan secured his path to a first season on The European Tour thanks to an 11th place finish in the Challenge Tour’s Rankings.
