Struggled in his rookie season on The European Tour in 2013 but has another bite of the cherry thanks to a fine performance at the Qualifying School Final Stage, where he won the 19th card and soon seized the opportunity with victory in the Madeira Islands Open – Portugal – BPI in a play-off after the event was reduced to 36 holes following extensive fog delays. An avid Manchester United supporter, he made steady progress on the Challenge Tour in 2010 and 2011 before he earned promotion by finishing 21st – the last exempt spot – in the 2012 Rankings. Almost won his maiden title at the 2012 Kärnten Golf Open presented by Mazda, but lost out to Gary Stal in an enthralling final day battle. Played three seasons on the EuroPro Tour after turning professional, winning in 2009 on the way to a third place finish on the Order of Merit. Was introduced to the game at the age of nine by his father, a single-figure handicapper. Benefitted in his early career when his aunt married a teaching professional, who works at Mill Hill Golf Club, where Brooks learned his trade.
