Tom Murray benefited from the experience of his father, former European Tour winner and caddie Andrew to storm into contention at the Scottish Hydro Challenge hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts with a six under par 65.

Jens Dantorp of Sweden finished with a flourish as four birdies in the final five holes earned him a six under par second round of 65 and the outright lead at the Scottish Hydro Challenge hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts.

After carding a five under par 67 to move into contention at the Fubon Senior Open in Taiwan, Andrew Murray set a challenge for his son Tom, who is playing in Qualifying School Second Stage this week, saying “beat my score today and you’ll be fine”.
