Claimed the second and third Challenge Tour victories of his career in 2009 to secure a return to The European Tour for the second time via the Challenge Tour route. Came close to winning his first European Tour title at the 2011 Avantha Masters, but missed two golden birdie chances in the closing holes and then took four shots to get down from the edge of the green at the last to hand the title to SSP Chowrasia. Was involved in a car crash three days before the 1998 Qualifying School Final Stage, but attempted to play. Shot a 78 on the first day, but was forced to withdraw after six holes of his second round. On returning home, discovered he had broken two ribs and was sidelined for eight weeks. Played mostly on the Challenge Tour in 1999, before going back to the Qualifying School where he earned the 19th card. Even so, he had to play through the pain barrier once more after suffering from mouth ulcers, having recently had his wisdom teeth removed. Worked on his father’s Petticoat Lane market stall to finance his early golfing career.
