Dane Knud Storgaard and Ireland’s Niall Turner carved out a lead in the European Tour Qualifying School First Stage at Golf d’Hardelot with 18 holes remaining.
The leading pair are on course to lead the charge towards the next hurdle with the leading 19 players and ties progressing through to the Second Qualifying Stage to be played in the first week of December over four courses in Spain - Costa Ballena Ocean Club, Las Colinas G & CC, El Valle Golf Resort and the South Course at La Manga Club.
51 players made the cut which fell at one over par.
Another four rounds await them there and then those who make the grade at the Second Qualifying Stage move on to the six-round examination of the Final Qualifying Stage at PGA Catalunya Resort, Girona, Spain from December 10-15.
A total of 94 players have already secured their place at the Second Stage having progressed through Dundonald Links in Scotland, Ebreichsdorf in Austria, WychwoodPark in England and Fleesensee G&CC – a European Tour Course - in Germany.
