Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren continued his dominance of the Qualifying School Second Stage at El Valle Golf Resort with a closing round of 69 to finish seven shots clear of his closest rivals.

Lagergren’s fourth successive sub-70 round capped a fine individual display as the Swede finished on 18 under par to book his place at the Final Stage, which starts this Thursday at PGA Catalunya Resort in Girona, Spain.

The Scottish duo of Callum Macaulay and Alan McLean finished in a tie for second place on 11 under par after shooting respective rounds of 71 and 69.

England’s Chris Paisley finished fourth on nine under par, with Spaniard Raul Quiros rounding out the top five on eight under par.

That quintet will be joined in Girona by their 15 fellow qualifiers which include Northern Ireland’s Jonathan Caldwell, Sweden’s Mattias Eliasson and Canadian Andrew Parr, who prevailed in a four-man play-off after finishing on one under par alongside Spaniard Jordi Garcia Pinto.
