Mark McNulty, who had been out of action for two months with a neck injury, opened his final round with a chip-in birdie at the first followed by three more birdies culminating with an 80 yard pitch to ten feet at the fourth.  He and Seve Ballesteros were out in 31, and Ballesteros maintained his challenge with seven birdies and one bogey in a closing 66, but McNulty extracted a decisive birdie from the 17th where he holed from 20 feet to take the title.
