The new format will see the 16-man field divided into four groups of four players, seedings based upon their Official World Golf Ranking:
ROUND ROBIN PHASE
During the “Round Robin” Phase each Match will be played up to the 18th hole regardless.
The result of a match will then be announced after the 18th hole is completed as so many “holes up” or “all square”.
A “Win” is awarded 2 points; a “Half” is awarded 1 point.
If, after all three matches have been played, one or more players within a group are tied on points; the following criteria will be used:
i) Where two or more players are tied within a group the player(s) with best cumulative holes won /lost will be placed higher
ii) If no more than two players are still tied then, the winner of their match will be placed higher.
iii) If the two players are still tied OR there are more than three players on the same cumulative holes won /lost total then those players will compete in a hole by hole play-off to decide the winner.
PRACTICE ON THURSDAY/FRIDAY
Practice on the golf course will NOT be allowed on Thursday and Friday.
