An unerring accuracy with his irons and putter was the chief reason for Peter Hanson’s victory at last week’s Iberdrola Open Cala Millor Mallorca.

According to the Genworth Financial Statistics, Hanson hit an average of 72.2 per cent of Greens in Regulation over the four days at Pula Golf Club, meaning he finished second in that category.

Hanson also enjoyed a great deal of success with his flat stick, finishing second in the Putts Per Greens In Regulation category with an average of 1.651 putts per hole.

The Swede also finished tenth in the Putts Per Round category with an average of 28.5, thereby giving further credence to the saying that you drive for show, and putt for dough.
